Alessandro Soranzo (Psychology) has had two refereed articles published.

Lightness constancy: Ratio Invariance and Luminance Profile in the Journal of Attention, Perception and Psychophysics; and The Perceptual Contrast of Impossible Shadow Edges in the Journal Perception - both with A Galmonte and T Agostini, Alessandro as first author.

Jim Golby (Sport & Exercise) with M Sheard has published a refereed article Investigating the ‘Rigid Persistence Paradox’ in Professional Rugby Union Football in the International Journal of Sport & Exercise Psychology.

Helen Dudiak (Psychology) has successfully bid to the HEA Psychology network to undertake a project on The Development of Emotional Intelligence within PDP Provision.

Dave Powell (Law) has published a refereed article High Court: Assisting Suicide and the Discretion to Prosecute: Hard Cases and Good Law? In the Journal of Criminal Law. Dave was also commissioned by Pearson Longman to submit an ‘expert review’ of Chappelle, D (2208) Land Law, 8th Ed, which has been submitted February 2009.

Dave Powell and Emma Teare have agreed a contract to write a joint authored book Writing Law Assignments with Palgrave Macmillan for publication in 2010.

Donald Simpson has had a peer reviewed article, Being Professional? Conceptualising Early Years Professionalism in England accepted for publication in the European Early Childhood Education Research Journal to be published March 2010. Donald also has a chapter (with Mark Cieslik) Living with Poor Basic Skills? The Role of ‘Skills for Life’ in Education-to–work Transitions in an edited book, Brookes, R (2009) Transitions from Education to Work: New Perspectives from Europe and Beyond Palgrave Macmillan. Donald has also, with Mark Cieslik, signed a book contract with Sage for their key concept series for a book entitled Key Concepts in Youth Studies draft to be complete by 2010.

Stuart Braye has had a book review published in Sport in Society March 2009.
