Insight into the world of mima

26 March 2009

A lunchtime lecture at the University will offer special insight into how exhibitions at mima, Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, are put together.

Curators James Beighton and Gavin Delahunty will take the audience through the process involved in planning and delivering and exhibition in their talk Curators Present: Fine Art and Craft at mima.

The event, which forms part of our free series of events celebrating Culture on Campus, takes place from 1.00pm to 2.00pm on Wednesday 1 April in the Constantine Building lecture theatre.

Gavin previously worked at Modern Art Oxford, The Douglas Hyde Gallery, Project Arts Centre and The Irish Museum of Modern Art, while James is a former Curator of the Cleveland Crafts Centre and Middlesbrough Art Gallery and was also Exhibition Officer for Craft at City Gallery in Leicester.

Julia Palmer, mima Acting Director, said, 'mima is delighted to be supporting the University's Culture on Campus programme and this is a perfect example of how the two organisations can work in synergy to create interesting and exciting opportunities for cultural exchange.'

There is no need to book a place for the event, simply turn up.
