Star student scoops bronze medal

Our congratulations to Chris Newton, who clinched a bronze medal in the 160 lap points race, during the World Track Cycling Championships in Pruszkow, Poland.

Chris, who is originally from Middlesbrough, is studying BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise (Coaching Science) via distance learning.

He has three Olympic medals for cycling in individual and team events, bronze in Beijing and Sydney, and silver in Athens. Chris also achieved Commonwealth silver and gold for the team pursuit.
