The Summer University courses are of interest if you are contemplating a return to study after a break from education or anting to develop your job prospects to seek a fresh employment route in the current economic climate.

A course to suit everyone With subject areas including art, design, business, computing, criminology, forensic science, education, history, languages, media, mathematics performing arts and sport, there's a course to suit everyone wanting to apply.

There are also courses in employability and learning skills, which offer help in developing critical thinking skills, managing your learning and improving oral presentation and writing skills.

The courses are held at our main campus in central Middlesbrough, with some also at Darlington College’s Haughton Road site and Catterick campus. The majority of courses take place in June, July and August and have no formal entry requirements.

Summer University courses carry University credits which can be used towards another University qualification. Priority for places is given to people who do not hold a higher education equivalent level qualification. Fees are paid for by the University's Widening Participation Scholarship Fund.
