We're expanding part-time learning in Darlington

13 July 2009

We are offering more opportunities for part-time study in Darlington from this September - higher education on your doorstep.

The part-time courses will be delivered in our building off The Fairway, Yarm Road, Darlington. Examples of courses are:

  • short courses in computing
  • digital photography
  • crime, justice and society
  • performance nutrition for athletes
  • separate master’s degrees in creative writing and education.

A full course list with fees and enrolment details is available on our bespoke site for Darlington.

Our aim is to open a five storey building on the Central Park development near Darlington College in September 2011.

Professor Graham Henderson, Teesside University’s Vice-Chancellor, said: 'We are looking forward with great excitement to our new state-of-the-art University building opening in Darlington in 2011, but are keen to begin offering more higher education opportunities for people in the Darlington area as soon as possible.

Darlington is one of our highest priorities 'I am delighted that we are going offer more courses from this autumn. Many of these can be seen as a beginning for Darlington’s students, they can start them in September and then progress towards the new Building when it opens. 'This project is one of the University’s highest priorities and I am very appreciative of the support that we are receiving from all of our partners in the town.'
