Teaching opportunities in China

24 July 2009

Fancy spending time overseas? There are opportunities to teach English language or business and management subjects to 17 and 18 year olds in China.

Experience required? It depends on age but 2 years’ business, teaching and/or youth work following a degree would be a big advantage. You will be guided and able to learn 'on the job'.

All you need is an undergraduate degree, although a CELTA certificate or TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Diploma would also be very useful.

Teaching posts are available in the capital city, Beijing or the coastal resort of Yantai, Shandong Province, east of Beijing.

Pay is around £350 per month at the start (still a lot of money in China) depending on responsibilities and qualifications, with chances to make more privately or through overtime.

Accommodation is of good hotel standard with all facilities, including TV.

Costs? None, apart from your own food/drink/entertainment and medical/travel insurance. All flights/visas/accommodation expenses are paid for by the CIE company.

What to do next? Send your CV (and ask for further details) to Andy Hutchings T: 01423 865649 E: andy.whm@ntlworld.com M: 07867 635545

Vacancies and procedures can then be discussed informally and an interview arranged. Teaching requirements are normally known by July and training and briefing meetings held in August. Visas are obtained prior to departure for China in September.
