Start the New Year with study in Darlington

A chance to seek a new direction in the New Year is on offer with a range of opportunities to study Teesside University courses part-time in Darlington.

Whether you’re seeking new skills, new employment or a route into higher education, the University is launching into 2010 with part-time courses at Darlington.

The courses are in digital photography, business, computing, crime scene and forensic science, sociology and youth studies, engineering, law and sport and exercise.

Among those currently undertaking a part-time course at Darlington is primary school head teacher Peter King.

I have enjoyed the new Darlington campus at The Fairway very much Peter said: 'I have enjoyed the new Darlington campus at The Fairway very much. The teaching environment is just right. I would certainly recommend it – a local, accessible site, with good facilities.'

A chance to sample the variety of part-time courses is available through a range of taster sessions. They include Introduction to Criminology on 4 February and Introduction to Criminal Law on 18 February, with taster sessions in other course subjects such as Introduction to Drug and Alcohol Studies also planned.

Teesside University, which was recently named University of the Year in the Times Higher Education awards, is running courses in temporary premises at The Fairway, close to Darlington town centre. The University is planning a five-storey new building on the Darlington College site at Haughton Road to open in summer 2011.
