It's the social future of book launches

A special book launch celebrated no less than six of our researchers being published.

The event at Waterstone's bookshop on campus celebrated the publication of works by six members of the Social Futures Institute.

The Social Futures Institute mission is to grow high quality research and enterprise around the key theme of ‘society’.

The authors are:

>Professor Eileen Green, who with Ellen Balka and Flis Henwood, worked on Gender, Health and Information Technology in Context.

>Jonathan Tummons senior lecturer in education, author of Curriculum Studies in the Lifelong Learning Sector.

>Professor Anna van Wersch, who wrote Complementary Medicine and Health Psychology with Mark Forshaw and Tina Cartwright.

>Peter van der Graaf Research Fellow, author of Out of Place? Emotional Ties to the Neighbourhood in Urban Renewal in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

>Jonathan Roberts, senior lecturer in youth work, wrote Youth Work Ethics.

>Georgios A. Antonopoulos, senior lecturer in criminology, co-edited with Professor Petrus van Duyne The Criminal Smoke of Tobacco Policy Making: Cigarette Smuggling in Europe.

Professor Green is working on projects on gender and health and social aspects of information and communication systems.

Jonathan Roberts is working in the areas of youth work and community development.

Jonathan Tummons works in areas of teacher education and lifelong learning.

Professor van Wersch is working in the area of health psychology.

Peter van der Graaf works in urban renewal, emotional attachment to place an Third Sector development.

Georgios A. Antonopoulos is working in areas of organised crime and illegal markets.
