An insight into World Cup football

03 April 2010

As World Cup football fever spreads, first hand knowledge of the beautiful game will be shared by Alan Smith in a free public lecture at Teesside University.

The former England football team physiotherapist will present Getting physical with World Cup Football as part of the University’s 80th anniversary honorary and professorial public lecture series.

Alan, a Teesside University Honorary Graduate, will talk about the many famous personalities and characters he has worked with during his England career. He will cover the highs and lows, with his own experiences at the very highest level in football, the World Cup finals.

His talk can be heard from 6.30pm to 7.45pm on Wednesday 21 April in the Centuria Building, off Victoria Road, Middlesbrough. All welcome, refreshments available from 6.00pm.

Due to anticipated popular demand, booking is essential as the limited places are expected to be quickly allocated.

Book a place by contacting the University’s Alumni Office T: 01642 342887 E: alumni.office@tees.ac.uk

Visitors to the 80th anniversary lecture series can also take advantage of a Public Lecture loyalty card scheme, which provides an opportunity to win a bottle of champagne.

Get your loyalty card stamped each time you attend a lecture and when you have three or more stamps, send it to the address on reverse of the card by Friday 11 June to be entered into the champagne prize draw.
