Take a virtual tour of Teesside University Darlington

08 July 2010

Work has started on our new £13m University campus at Darlington and now you can take a virtual tour.

The five storey building will offer both undergraduate and postgraduate courses - a complete University offer for Darlington and the west of the region.

And you can start your journey with Teesside University Darlington now by applying to start in September.

We already have courses running at The Fairway in Darlington.

It certainly worked for student David Morley - he caught the photography bug at eight - and now 27 he has set up his own business after acquiring new skills studying at Darlington.

Earlier this year he completed a University Certificate in Professional Development in Digital Photography.

David said: 'I’ve always had a keen interest in photography. Ever since I first got my hands on a decent camera as an eight-year-old boy I’ve wanted to be a photographer.

The course has helped me so much 'I worked first in sales after leaving school at 18 and then as an IT analyst so I’ve taken the long route! The course has helped me so much, it was absolutely brilliant and every aspect was covered in the lectures. You learned about which image to take, how to prepare the image and digital editing.

'The lecturer was really approachable and I’d recommend the course to anyone, it caters for all levels. The quality of my pictures has improved so much and the Fairway campus is welcoming.'

David is in the process of setting up his own photography business with the help of Princes Trust and Business Link, specialising initially in portrait photography.

David added: 'With the course finished I feel that I have the necessary skills to succeed and develop my business.'
