Clearing advice at University of the Year

13 August 2010

We are offering a range of advice services and a specific Clearing open day following the release of A level results.

On Thursday 19 August the UK’s students can enter the process known as Clearing, which helps to match potential students to courses which still have vacancies.

David Hudson, Assistant Director UK Student Recruitment at Teesside, said: ‘When students receive their results on 19 August, the University has many ways in which we can help.

‘We have a dedicated phone line, 0800 9520 226, opening at 8.30am for unplaced students to find out what opportunities are still available to them.

‘We can offer students advice on what they should do next. Our lines will be open until 8.00pm on both Thursday and Friday and then right over the weekend and into the following week.

‘Our Clearing open day on Saturday 21 August, from 10.00am to 3.00pm, is the perfect opportunity for students to talk to staff about their options and to visit the campus.

‘This event is only for students who wish to enrol at the University this autumn and we will have representatives from all of our Academic Schools to help find a suitable course of study. Our Student Services team will also be on hand to talk with people about their specific needs.’
