University student’s music to feature on MTV

A talented Teesside student is following his dreams and is set to have his first music video featured on MTV.

Christian Onwochei, a second year BSc (Hons) Music Technology student, has been writing and recording under the name XTN since 2006.

His latest song Do It Again has had thousands of hits on YouTube and the video is set to be featured on MTV in February.

Christian said he has loved music all his life and is really excited about his song being played on MTV.

Do It Again, which features Jav Zavari, was recorded at the studio Christian uses at Middlesbrough College and features on his second album which is due out later this year.

Christian is well known on the music scene in Middlesbrough, having performed at events including Middlesbrough Music Live and Middlesbrough Mela.

He added: ‘I am getting my name and music out there now and hopefully with it being on MTV that will help even more.

‘My lifelong ambition has always been to set up my own record label. I am now in the process of doing that now.

‘It would help establish myself and my music, but also give other musicians on Teesside the chance to produce their music and get their talent out there.’ Watch Do it Again on YouTube
