The University of Teesside host a Christmas cracker!

04 December 2000

Slade’s Noddy Holder first screeched in 1973: ‘So here it is, Merry Christmas, everybody’s having fun!’ In the year 2000 the University of Teesside’s Student Services Department are determined to continue the festive fun, in a safe manner.

They will be hosting a Christmas party with a bar sponsored by the University’s Students’ Union on Wednesday 6 December, from 11.30pm-3pm, in the First floor Reception (near the CAMEO Coffee bar), Student Centre, Clarendon Link Building, University of Teesside.

The party’s theme is ‘Have a great time, have a safe time’, and aims to raise students’ awareness in the areas of alcohol, mental health and sexual health. There will be a Christmas quiz for staff and students, information displays and promised appearances from staff in fancy dress! Free non-alcoholic drinks will be served together with the recipes for some exotic cocktails.

Fiona Hyslop, Mental Health Co-ordinator with Student Services said: “Christmas is an important and fun time for many students. For some, however, it can be exhausting and stressful with scarce finances and looming exams. It is important, therefore, to look after your physical and mental well being during the festive season.”

This is a media invitation only, the party is for University staff and students and not the general public. The media are welcome to attend and have a glass of orange juice!
