Human Rights and Police surveillance under the spotlight

The issue of human rights and police surveillance is to be explored in a joint conference organised by the Universities of Teesside and Durham. The conference, entitled ‘Covert Policing and Human Rights’, will take place at Durham University’s Van Mildert College, in South Road, Durham on Tuesday 12 December from 12.30pm to 5.30pm, and Wednesday 13 December from 9.30am to 1pm.

The conference has been jointly organised by the University of Teesside’s Centre for Police Research and Education (CPRE) and the Human Rights Unit of Durham University's European Law Institute.

Guest speakers include academics from both Universities and executives from the Crown Prosecution Service, who will look at a range of subjects, such as new forms of surveillance and their impact on human rights.
