This national event aims to help future students and parents in England in tackling some of the myths and misunderstandings surrounding the changes to student finance, which come into effect in September 2012.
We will offer teachers, students, parents or guardians access to unbiased student funding advice from our award-winning Student Services department.
The University is also offering one-to-one sessions with advisers who can provide clear and informed guidance to prospective students on fees and funding for 2012. The sessions are available on a drop-in basis, with no need to book.
Free at the point of entry
Garry Toulouse, Director of Student Services, said, 'Our helpline will be open for ten hours and we encourage any prospective student or their parents to call. There’s a lot of misinformation about the fees for 2012, particularly about the fact that University education will still be free at the point of entry and about how much help is available.' The Teesside University hotline is 01642 384209, and open from 9:00am to 7:00pm.
A representative from Student Finance England will also be at the University to support the activities with information and guidance.
We are also offering 350 extra scholarships for new full-time undergraduate students in 2012, as well as 200 National Scholarships. Information on these scholarships will also be available.
