Teesside University Darlington on course for victory in charity quiz

02 December 2011

Some of the finest brains from in and around Darlington went head to head in a charity quiz in aid of St Teresa’s Hospice.

Teams representing the Hospice, the Northern Echo, Teesside University Darlington and local law firms gathered at Darlington College to battle it out over subjects as diverse as geography, science, news and popular culture. With the contest in the balance, victory was secured for Teesside University Darlington’s debutant team in the final round, as they pipped the Northern Echo to the title by just two points. The team, of Caroline MacDonald, Linda Steel, Nigel Evans, Sharon Paterson, Dave Hudson and Alastair MacDonald, was delighted with the win and also with the sum of over £500 they helped raise for St Teresa’s Hospice. Dave Hudson, Assistant Director for Recruitment and Marketing at Teesside University Darlington said, 'The team is proud to have won the quiz, but more importantly, to have supported St Teresa’s Hospice, which makes such a valuable contribution to the local community.' Teesside University Darlington’s festive event on 14 December is also raising money for St Teresa’s Hospice.
