Andrew’s a Master of Business

03 January 2001

Part-time study has reaped dividends for Andrew Sangster, as he has gained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Teesside and clinched the Chartered Institute of Marketing Prize, awarded to the masters level student who produced the best marketing dissertation.

Andrew, 25, of Lingfield Road, Yarm, is Technical Manager for BPI Industrial Visqueen in Stockton. BPI sponsored Andrew to complete his MBA. He said: “I’m over the moon to graduate, although it was sometimes hard studying part-time over three years. I had to sacrifice some of my social life to combine it all.”

Former Conyers school pupil Andrew has previously worked for Davy McKeee and BP Industrial and finds the MBA valuable in the workplace. “The business strategy modules are applicable to my line of work. I’d like to thank my dissertation supervisor Rod Harradine for his support,” said Andrew.

His prize-winning dissertation looked at innovations in new product development. Andrew’s girlfriend Sarah Wardale is in the final year of a BA (Hons) Business degree at the University, and will graduate in 2001.

Andrew’s mother Holly, of Turton Road, Yarm, said: “I’m absolutely thrilled for Andrew, he worked so hard.”
