Nick has designs on scooter board tricks

07 June 2000

Skate boards, roller blades and pogo sticks have all been the in thing at some time or another, but Nicolas White, a final year Industrial Design student has decided that the scooter board is the latest must-have for teenagers and adults in a teenage frame of mind.

Nicolas White, 28, has designed the Trick Deck - a 33cc engine-powered, lightweight scooter for after-school and weekend activity. Nicolas, a former fashion designer from Castle Eden said: "Kids today are increasingly sophisticated and can quickly master the latest computer game in their bedroom. The Trick Deck is a fun and safe mode of entertainment and transport combining motor skills and that all important fresh air."

Nicolas's scooter will be on display at the Design Degree Show at the University of Teesside which is open from 19-21 June between 9am-5pm in the Main Hall. Contact Helen Smith in the School of Law, Arts & Humanities on 01642 384052 for more details.
