Man made with a little help from Mother Nature

07 June 2000

Cleansing, exfoliating and toning are no longer the last bastion of the female beauty routine. Not according to David Cairns, a final year Design Marketing student from the University of Teesside, who has produced 'Man Made' - a grooming, health and fitness retail outlet aimed at young males.

David, 20, from Milton Keynes, said: "You only need to glance in the newsagents to see the myriad of magazines devoted to men's health and grooming products. High street stores and top brands such as Clinique and Nivea have brought out a full range of men only products. 'Man Made' will tap into the market for these products, reaching a newer type of male consumer who understands that being fit and healthy is about looking good and feeling good."

David's designs will feature in the Design Degree Show at the University of Teesside from 19-21 June between 9am-5pm. Contact Helen Smith in the School of Law, Arts & Humanities for more details on 01642 384052.
