IDCA offers PhD studentships

27 May 2014

Teesside University’s Institute of Design, Culture and the Arts (IDCA) is inviting applications for three fully funded PhD studentships.

Three stipends of £15,000 each are being offered to creative applicants who wish to study for three years, full-time, for their PhD in the arts.

The Funded PhD Studentship in Art and Design, which takes place within the Art and Design Research Group, explores themes that question visual narratives in art and design, social design and the artist/designer as author, producer and creator.

The Funded PhD Studentship in Fine Art includes transdisciplinary approaches to art and literature and areas of radical pedagogy, conceptual writing, artists’ books and new strategies for mapping spatialities.

The Funded PhD Studentship in Modern and Contemporary Literature and Culture, which is based in the English Research Group, focuses on a wide range of research areas within literature, performance and culture. Applications in the area of Gender and Sexuality Studies and/or the Medical Humanities may be especially welcome.

For more information on the studentships and how to apply for them, visit our Funding Opportunities page.
