Teesside University opens its door to future students

11 June 2014

Students at Teesside University had the time of their lives at the recent end of year MTV final fling and now those thinking of studying at Teesside can find out all they need to know about University life at an open day.

Thousands of Teesside students enjoyed a once in a lifetime party to mark the end of the academic year after winning a national competition which saw MTV bring a host of music stars to perform at the University’s Final Fling.

Acts including DJ Fresh, Neon Jungle and the cast from Geordie Shore made sure it was a night to remember and now people thinking about higher education can sample what Teesside University has to offer when it opens its doors for a summer open day.

The University, which has been awarded a Queen’s Anniversary Prize for excellence in higher education, opens its doors at the Middlesbrough campus on Wednesday 18 June, from 9.00am to 3.00pm.

Visitors can discover more about the variety of courses available to study, talk to current students and staff and tour accommodation and the wide range of facilities on offer. They can also find out more details about the new £20m campus heart project which includes a new state of the art teaching building and the £1m revamp of the award-winning Students’ Union.

A personal itinerary can also be created, by choosing talks and tours to attend.

Friends and families are welcome too and help may be available for teachers seeking to arrange a visit by a group of their students.

Those who attended last month’s Final Fling hailed Teesside’s great atmosphere and friendly environment.

For more information about the open day, contact the External Relations Student Recruitment Team on enquiries@tees.ac.uk or can be booked online at www.tees.ac.uk.
