The annual SET (Science, Engineering & Technology) Programme which runs from 17-25 March includes a free lecture at the University of Teesside entitled 'Finding your way around global positioning systems'. The lecture, on Wednesday 22 March, will be given by Calum Shone, Area Manager for Sokkia, a Japanese company specialising in survey instruments. Calum will take an in-depth look at how you can map your global position with the aid of a satellite and a lap top computer.
