Replacing: Wheelchair Basketball Proves a Winner!

Sydney Paralympic star, Lee Fawcett, will take part in a competition at the University of Teesside, which aims to highlight sports provision for the disabled. A series of wheelchair basketball competitions will take place on Sunday 28 January in the University’s Main Sports Hall, accessible from Borough Road, Middlesbrough. Tip off is at 1pm and the competitions end at 5pm.

Home team, the Teesside Lions will be led by Lee Fawcett, 24, from Grove Hill, Middlesbrough, who represented Great Britain in the 2000 Paralympics. The team was placed fourth overall in the Sydney competition. In addition there will be an exhibition match by a Gateshead team and an able-bodied team will battle it out, to raise awareness of disability in sport.
