In the 250th celebratory issue of Animation Magazine, Animex is highlighted as one of their 25 'can’t miss events'.
It features alongside events in America, India and France and is described as 'an intimate and inclusive gathering full of opportunities for education and entertainment.'
The Animex festival of animation and computer games takes place every February and attracts hundreds of people from across the globe. It is the largest festival of its kind in the UK and has also expanded with Animex South East Asia.
Held over five days at Teesside University, Animex attracts industry professionals from the world’s biggest companies including Disney, Marvel and Dreamworks, as well as smaller, independent studios and companies.
It offers a unique mix of talks, master classes, workshops, film screenings and exhibitions and promotes an ethos of collaboration and sharing, bringing the world of computer games and animation to the audience at any level of expertise.
Senior Lecturer in Computer Games Development and Animex Organiser Gabrielle Kent said: 'Animex continues to grow and seems to get bigger and better every year. It has a unique family atmosphere and is an opportunity for us to celebrate our love of gaming and animation with colleagues and friends from across the globe.
'What is really special about Animex is the way it lets talented people looking to break into the industry meet and get advice from those who have worked on some of the biggest games and animated films out there.'
Chris Wyatt, Head of Animex AVFX, added: 'We are delighted to be listed by Animation Magazine as one of their ‘can’t miss events’. It is another boost to our reputation and a credit to everyone who works so hard to make Animex such a fantastic experience every year.'
