Explore the world of media at Teesside

Leading figures from the worlds of film, television and radio are to give guest lectures at the University of Teesside to discuss their varied works. The free Lectures are open to the public and are part of the Media Industries and Culture Series. They take place on Wednesdays from 1.00-2.00pm in the Main Lecture Theatre, Constantine Building. The programme is:

14 March 2001 Peter Kershaw (Duchy Parade Films)
Producing and Directing an Independent Film : 'Wilfred'. This film, released in 2000, starred Michael Higgs, formerly Eddie Santini in The Bill, as World War One poet Wilfred Owen.

21 March 2001 Bill Nelson (Independent Music Producer and Performer)
Surviving In The Music Industry.

28 March 2001 John Wilson (Animation Director / Designer)
GB Animation, Disney, the US Context and Promoting Animation as Art.

4 April 2001 Colin Harding (The National Museum of Photography, Film and Television at Bradford ) : Archives and Museums Culture.

25 April 2001 Mark Hermann (Writer / Director of Brassed Off and Little Voice)
Interview / Q & A Session.

2 May 2001 Phil Draycott (Television Director)
Directing Soap Opera: Eastenders and Emmerdale. Philip has also directed episodes of Coronation Street.

9 May 2001 Caroline Beck (BBC Radio)
Producing Radio Features and Documentaries.
