The University has moved up 23 places, to 79th, one of the highest climbers this year.
The Guardian University Guide is an annual league table that uses statistics from a variety of sources to rank universities in the UK. The league table is designed to assist students in making a decision on which university they should choose.
In subject areas at Teesside, Art, Dance and Drama, English and Creative Writing, History and Nursing and Midwifery each featured in the top third of institutions in their subject table.
Art was the most improved subject, rising to 11th place.
