The conference brought together researchers from all across the UK to discuss interdisciplinary topics from theoretical computer science and mathematical analysis.

It was supported by the London Mathematical Society with a Scheme 9 Grant 'Celebrating New Appointments' awarded to Sven-Ake Wegner, who joined Teesside University in 2018 as a Senior Lecturer in Mathematics.

The conference was organised by Anna Huber and Sven-Ake Wegner. In addition to the main speakers, several other researchers, from Durham, Derby, Edinburgh and Leeds, came to the event on 22 March. Undergraduate students also joined the conference.

First year maths student Marianne Lawson said: "It was great to have these experts here and to get insights into current research topics in mathematics.'
