Students display a passion for fashion

23 May 2019

Creative students at Teesside University displayed their fashion expertise at an exclusive exhibition show.

The Fashion and Textiles graduate show featured work from BA (Hons) Fashion Design, BA (Hons) Fashion Enterprise and BA (Hons) Textile Design students.

Held in the new Teesside University Business School, it showcased skills in design, creative pattern cutting, textile design and industrial manufacturing.

The final year projects were inspired by real issues such as mental health, sustainability and the environment. The collections included lingerie, bridal wear, ladieswear and menswear.

Lynne Hugill, Principal Lecturer (International) in the University’s School of Science, Engineering & Design and Course Leader for Fashion and Textiles, said: 'The standard of work was exceptional and it touched on issues that reflect and impact upon wider society.

'The students did a fantastic job organising the event themselves and they were supported by industry professionals on the night, which added to the experience.'
