The University was awarded the prestigious rating for the third consecutive time in 2018, and a recent annual review has consolidated its status.

The review included a general update on University progress and achievements, and a series of meetings with University staff in small groups and on an individual basis.

IiP accreditation is recognised across the world as a mark of excellence and high performance through people management and only the top two per cent of organisations achieve the Gold standard.

Juliet Amos, Executive Director (Human Resources), said: ‘The results of our recent annual IiP review prove that, as an organisation, we effectively lead, support and manage people to achieve outcomes that result in sustainable success.

‘Such recognition clearly demonstrates that our people are committed to the ambitions and values of our University, and it is something of which we can all be immensely proud.

‘Over the years, the bar has been raised in terms of what we need to do to achieve Gold, so we’re delighted that we continue to exceed the benchmarks.’

IiP assessor Sheila Warren praised Teesside for creating sustainable success, building capability and delivering continuous improvement.

In particular, she highlighted the significant progress made by the Strategic Transformation and Change (STC) team, and the degree to which the Technology Enablement team in Academic Registry are engaged with the University’s digital strategy.

The latter’s iPad Essentials training initiative for students also provided a great example of staff living our University Values through their commitment to delivering excellence in learning, research and enterprise.
