Open all Summer at the University

07 June 2001

More people will be getting a taste of higher education during June, July and August - thanks to the University of Teesside’s Summer University.

To find out what is on offer a special advice and enrolment day is being held in the University’s Student Centre, behind the Dicken’s pub in Middlesbrough between 10.30am and 3pm on Saturday 16 June.

Tom Taylor of the University’s Centre for Lifelong Learning, said: “The Summer University is a new initiative, which offers small ‘bite-size’ programmes of study at higher education level. Day-time courses mostly run for a number of half-days over several weeks.

“Day-time courses range from developing Critical Management Skills and studying Family History to introductions to the Internet, Information Handling and Word Procesing.

“There are also evening sessions, starting at 6pm, which include Learning & Study Skills and Dissertation & Report Writing.”
