The latest series of Robson and Jim’s Fly Fishing Adventure follows the two actors, known for their roles in Grantchester and The Crown respectively, on their new fly fishing journey across the country.

Interior Design students from Teesside University collaborated with ITV’s Signpost Productions on the project, designing the interior of the tackle wagon which Robson and Jim are travelling with. They designed and developed bespoke wall coverings, textiles and fish-themed furniture.

Robson Green visited Teesside University to collect the completed vehicle in person.

Upon seeing the students’ work, he said: “I just can’t thank the guys enough for the amount of time and effort they put in and what they created. They’ve got incredible imaginations.

“They got hold of this old, small, twee caravan and they’ve turned it into a mobile fishing lodge, which is essentially what it is, where we can keep all of our fishing gear and where we can invite our guests to talk tactics and to talk about their lives.

“It’s a real character which is what we wanted. It’s got that kind of TARDIS effect. On the outside, it doesn’t look like much, but inside it’s pretty spectacular, and that’s the effect we want people to see. It’s really going to stand out.”

Louise Caddick, who worked on the project as part of her BA (Hons) Interior Design studies, added: “I did a lot of the practical work. I used to be a painter and decorator and I just loved getting back to it, getting my hands dirty, getting in the middle of it and seeing things change.

I just can’t thank the guys enough for the amount of time and effort they put in and what they created.

“I’m proud of us all. I think we’ve done amazing work.”

The creative collaboration came after Teesside University signed a memorandum of understanding with Signpost Productions to boost opportunities for students.

Richard Sober, Associate Professor (Learning and Teaching) at Teesside University’s School of Arts & Creative Industries, said: “Our students showcased their talents and professionalism in this project, and it is fantastic to see the outcome of that hard work showcased on national television.

“This collaboration provided the cohort with valuable experience of working to a live brief, and they should be extremely proud of what they achieved.”

In the first episode of the programme, which will be broadcast tonight (Wednesday 5 April), Robson and Jim will travel to the River Towy in Carmarthenshire and Abersoch along with their tackle wagon.

The other episodes will be aired every Wednesday for the following three weeks on ITV4 at 9pm and ITV1 after the 10 o'clock news. All episodes will also be available on ITVX.
