The Team Teesside Star Awards, for the academic year 2022-2023, took place on Wednesday 17 May.
It saw colleagues recognised in a wide range of categories, from outstanding teaching and research excellence, to unsung hero and team of the year.
The Star Awards celebrate colleagues across the University who have provided exceptional performance, lead by example, or worked to deliver an excellent student experience.
There were more than 600 nominations this year, across all nine categories, and all finalists were invited to the awards ceremony, where the winners were announced and presented with their awards by Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Professor Paul Croney, OBE.
In addition to the Star Awards, the University also celebrated the incredible hard work and commitment of colleagues who have completed 25 years of service within the last calendar year, as well as those who have recently achieved significant personal accolades such as Teaching Fellowships or Professorships.
Professor Croney said: “Team Teesside is all about our people and how we work together, support one another, and strive to achieve excellence in everything we do.
“It is always a privilege to present the Star Awards, and also to celebrate those colleagues who have completed such long and dedicated service to our University.
“We strive to provide an outstanding student experience and we would not be able to do that without the commitment, enthusiasm and creativity of colleagues who perform exceptional work across a wide variety of different roles.
Team Teesside is all about our people and how we work together, support one another, and strive to achieve excellence in everything we do.
“I would like to express my thanks once again for everything you do to make our University such a special place to work and study.”
