World AIDS Day: Friday 1 December

21 November 2023

To show our support for World AIDS Day the LGBTQ+ staff focus group are asking our University community if you would kindly make a donation of £2.00 (or more if you feel you would like to).

You can donate online or alternatively donate in cash on Friday 1 December and come to work dressed in something red.

The Students’ Union are hosting activities, led by SU officer Femi between 11.00am -3.00pm. You can purchase a red ribbon, make further donations, and browse the stands.

Terrence Higgins Trust (THT) and our society will host a quiz in the SU between 1.00pm - 2.00pm and Anthony Young from THT will be available 2.00pm - 3.00pm for questions that students and staff may have, for personal reasons or for educational purposes.

We will be promoting the times and days testing will be available on campus.

THT have made a plea that by 2030 they intend to have everybody diagnosed with AIDS to be receiving treatment. The money our University raises will help support them in making this goal a reality, by providing more testing kits and funding the services dedicated to supporting physical and mental well-being.

Everyone is welcome.
