For the eighth time in succession, the University has been awarded the Putting the Customer First accreditation in recognition of its excellent customer and business services.

The national accreditation, launched by Customer First UK, recognises those organisations which put the customer at the heart of what they do and make customer service excellence a priority.

Teesside University has a strong commitment to the Putting the Customer First values and has been successful in every attempt to receive accreditation since it first applied in 2010.

With this latest plaudit, the Customer First inspectors have drawn attention to the University’s refreshed Enterprise and Knowledge Exchange Strategy which places great emphasis on working with industry to deliver innovation and drive economic development.

The strategy also works to ensure that the University’s research is industry-focused with the potential to deliver impactful solutions.

The report also highlights the success of recent key strategic projects undertaken by the University to support this strategy, including the Teesside University London campus and the new Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre.

We are delighted to be reaccredited with the Putting the Customer First standard which is a fantastic validation of the work we do to support business.

In his report, Customer First assessor Mike Wildey writes: “The desire to garner ‘industry led’ research with a ‘whole team’ approach supports internal communication and collaboration which appears to be developing even stronger links externally.

“On the basis of this assessment Teesside University continues to be compliant with the Customer First standard – well done again.”

Professor Craig Gaskell, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Enterprise and Knowledge Exchange) at Teesside University, said: “As a University we are dedicated to supporting the economic prosperity of students, partners and the communities we serve.

“Therefore, we are delighted to be reaccredited with the Putting the Customer First standard which is a fantastic validation of the work we do to support business.

“It is a testament to the hard work of our staff who put a tremendous amount of effort into ensuring that all of our interventions are specifically tailored to meet the needs of our partners.”
