We are pleased to announce details of National Student Money Week 2025.
Taking place from 3 to 7 March 2025, the theme of this year’s campaign will be ‘Survive and thrive: building financial resilience’.

Whether you need help with 'surviving’ by going back to the basics of budgeting and the battle between needs and wants or want advice on ‘thriving’ by being proactive and planning ahead, and thinking of the longer term, we hope that there will be something for everyone.

National Student Money Week stalls

Our main event will take place on Monday 3 March, from 10am to 2pm, on ground floor, Student Life Building, with these attendees:

  • HSBC
  • Cleveland Police
  • Stop Loan Sharks
  • VCAS – Victim Care and Advice Service
  • NECA - North East Council on Alcoholism
  • Citizens Advice
  • Recovery Connections
  • NERSOU - North East Regional Special Operations Unit
  • Y Gam
  • The Community Grocery Store
  • TU Finance Adviser

There will be competitions running on the day with a ‘shopping bag challenge’ where students need to estimate the cost difference between a basket of branded and non-branded items and a spin the wheel competition.

We will have finance advisers available and competitions running on Tuesday 4 March and Wednesday 5 March, from 10am to 2pm, on ground floor, Student Life Building, so lots of opportunities to get involved and win prizes.

National Student Money Week food offers

Streat are offering a pizza deal for NSMW, students can choose a margherita, pepperoni, or Cajun chicken pizza, with a garlic dip, plus a can of pop or bottle of water, for £5. Offer runs 5 – 7 March and you will need to show your student TUSC.

The Student’s Union will also have food offers available, details to follow.
