At Teesside, our Launchpad team runs FUEL — an intensive 7-week business start-up programme featuring expert-led workshops, mentoring, and support to prepare you to pitch for a share of £34,000 in grant funding. Now in its ninth successful year, this programme is designed exclusively for Teesside University students, recent graduates, and staff in the early stages of starting a business. The programme starts on the 7th July, and applications are already open so if you are interested apply before the closing date of the 13th June.
Fuel is more than just a course, it’s a community. Alumni often describe it as a life-changing experience, where they not only build businesses, but also lasting friendships and support networks. With continued guidance even after the programme ends, FUEL empowers graduates to grow sustainable businesses, make their mark, and contribute to the economic and social progress of the Tees Valley.
The Fuel Programme really helped me fine-tune my business plan with all the different talks they had. I especially found the ones about sales and pitching useful... The staff there are amazing – they treat your business like it’s their own.
If you are interested but want to know more, come and join the FUEL mixer event taking place on 4th June (4pm-6pm) at Launchpad on Victoria Road. Booking is required for this event, see the link below for more information. If you have any specific questions about the mixer event or the FUEL programme, please email Lizzie Dixon on L.Dixon@tees.ac.uk.
