Two of the region’s most celebrated voices will take centre stage for Teesside University’s latest In Conversation event.

Broadcaster Steph McGovern and writer Adele Parks MBE will step into the spotlight to share insight into their careers and answer questions from the audience.

  • In Conversation with Steph McGovern and Adele Parks is at Teesside University Students’ Union in Middlesbrough, 6.00pm to 8.30pm on Tuesday 18 November.

Middlesbrough-born Steph, who received an Honorary Doctorate from Teesside University in 2013, has over two decades experience in journalism and broadcasting.

She spent eight years with BBC Breakfast before launching her own BAFTA-nominated television show Steph’s Packed Lunch. More recently, Steph released her debut thriller Deadline and co-hosts the popular podcast The Rest is Money.

Joining her is Adele, one of the UK’s most prolific novelists. Originally from Eaglescliffe, Adele has written 24 bestselling novels, selling over six million copies worldwide, with her work translated into 31 languages.

Her work has earned her critical acclaim, numerous awards, and an MBE for services to literature. A passionate advocate for literacy, Adele is ambassador for the National Literacy Trust and The Reading Agency charities. She received an Honorary Doctorate from Teesside University in 2009.

The University’s ongoing In Conversation series has included a varied line-up of speakers, who have each made a mark in their respective industries from the worlds of business, culture, and sport.
