Decorating the Unicorn Centre for Christmas
Wednesday 26 November, 12:45 – 16:00
The Unicorn Centre, a registered charity, it is a purpose-built riding for the disabled facility which offers riding therapy and learning and training opportunities for over 150 disabled adults and children from the Tees Valley area each week.
They need our help to decorate their indoor arena to create a magical Christmas themed course for their annual Pony Rides to Santa and Christmas Fair event. There will be Christmas trees to assemble and decorate and chalk drawing their arena walls with a festive theme.
Refreshments will be offered (the best cake around!). Meet at the Student Life Building reception at 12:45pm. Travel to the Unicorn Centre should take around 15 minutes. You will then get picked up at 3:45pm, returning to campus at around 4pm.

Light up a life for Teesside Hospice
Thursday 27 and Friday 28 November, 10:00 – 16:00
Volunteering alongside the volunteering team, student volunteers will be staffing the Middlesbrough Hill Street Centre Teesside Hospice Christmas Tree. We have agreed to staff this on 27th and 28th November from 10am - 4pm.
We are asking volunteers to sign up and choose one of the following shifts:
This tree has been placed in the Hill Street Shopping Centre as a way for the local community to dedicate a message to a loved one who has passed away. Our volunteering role is to engage with the public, assist them in writing dedications if needed, and inform them about the Hospice. We kindly request a small donation from the public writing a message to place a dedication on the tree, and volunteers will be provided with the necessary equipment on the day.
This campaign is crucial to build awareness for the Hospice at a crucial time of the year. It also helps us raise much-needed funds to support the Hospice’s ongoing care for patients and families.
Finally, this has been a tradition in shopping centres for over 10 years and is therefore a huge part of the general public’s Christmas tradition.

Warm this winter sale
Thursday 4 December, 11:00 – 14:00 (sale 11:30-13:30)
Winter is coming, and it’s time to help our student and staff community stay warm! Over the past few weeks, Teesside University staff have generously donated their pre-loved winter items — coats, hats, scarves, gloves, boots, and more for our Warm This Winter Sale. This event supports our Sustainable Futures Strategy by promoting reuse and sustainability, helping staff and students with the cost of living, and raising funds for a local charity. We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make this event a success! Volunteers will assist with setting up before the sale, supporting during the event, and helping to pack down afterwards.
Tasks may include setting up tables and displays, greeting and chatting with students, handling donated items, and helping with sales and tidy-up

Give as little or as much time as you can — every bit of support makes a difference! Volunteering with the volunteering team to Do Good, Feel Good!
