The one-day hybrid International Symposium on Smart Energy, Materials, Manufacturing and Digital Technologies (ISSMART 2025), will bring together leading academics, researchers, and industry professionals to discuss cutting-edge developments in smart energy systems, advanced materials, manufacturing innovation, and digital technologies.
Organised under the British Council Going Global India grant, ISSMART 2025 will explore the intersection of smart energy systems, advanced materials, manufacturing innovation, and digital technologies such as AI, data analytics, and Industry 4.0.
The symposium is delivered in collaboration with VIT (India), Wipro 3D (India), and the Teesside University Energy Society (TUES). It will be held from 8.30am to 5.30pm on Monday 1 December, in Digital Life, Teesside University.
The symposium, which will also be held online via Teams, will feature keynote addresses, plenary sessions, technical tracks, industry spotlights, and a panel discussion on global pathways to achieving net zero.
Key themes include: > Smart Energy Systems & Storage: renewable integration, hydrogen, next-generation batteries
> Advanced & Sustainable Materials: functional materials, composites, solid-state systems
> Digitalisation & AI: digital twins, predictive analytics, robotics, industrial IoT
>Smart Manufacturing & Industry 4.0: additive manufacturing, automation, circular economy
>Cross-cutting Innovations: strategies for net-zero transitions and global collaborations.
