Open your mind to Mature Learning at Teesside

24 October 2001

Mature students on Access Courses from around the country are being invited to an Access Open Day at the University of Teesside on Saturday 3 November from 9.30am to 2pm, to find out more about courses on offer and get a first hand look at available facilities.

Access Courses are designed for mature students lacking A Level’s, or equivalent, who wish to enter Higher Education. Taking essential life experience into account, access courses offer a one-year ‘fast-track’ to a degree or HND, and are offered at most Further Education and Sixth Form colleges.

Visitors to the Open Day can meet with members of staff and attend presentations for all of the University’s schools.

Kathy Dunn, University of Teesside Partnership & Access Co-ordinator, said: “This is a great opportunity for mature students to see what we have to offer here at Teesside. As well as the chance to meet tutors and listen to subject presentations, there will also be specific presentations about student finance issues relating to mature students. With the far reaching changes to Higher Education which have taken place over the last few years, I am sure that this presentation will prove invaluable.”

To book a place at the University of Teesside’s Access Open Day, call Kathy Dunn on 01642 344222, fax: 01642 342293 or email: k.dunn@tees.ac.uk.
