Wellbeing Activity Sessions 2024

SLS (Student and Library Services) are offering some free Wellbeing Activity Sessions from Thursday 8 February 2024.

These Wellbeing sessions will take place in the Wellbeing room, Library ground floor, LG.20.
The Wellbeing room is located at the back of the Exhibition Space, near the Food Quarter café.
Spaces are limited and allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

Mindful Movement (will run weekly starting on Thursday 8 February)
A chance to take a break and add some self-care and mindfulness into your day, through gentle yoga and Pilates-based movement and breathwork. Suitable for everyone.
No special clothing, equipment or prior experience required.
Each session will last 20 minutes.
Middlesbrough campus – Sessions are between 12:00 -13:00.
The first session is 12:05-12:25 and the second session will be 12:35-12:55.
You are more than welcome to stay for as long as you like and spend some time with us relaxing.
No need to book, just come along.
The sessions are free (no charge) to attend.

Breathwork for Wellbeing (will run fortnightly starting on Thursday 22nd February)
If you experience stress or anxiety, a simple practice you can learn is how to use your breath to move you from a ‘fight or flight’ response to a rest and digest, more relaxed place.
In these Breathwork sessions you will learn some simple, quick breathwork techniques which can be used anytime you need them, e.g. before or during an exam or assessment, a meeting or a presentation.
These sessions will run fortnightly, 1.15 - 1.45pm.
