Autism Support Group

02 April 2024

Teesside University’s Disability Service is now running a fortnightly ‘Autism Support Group'.

The Autism support Group is a bi-weekly support group ran by Teesside University’s Disability Service where you can meet with other autistic students providing you with an opportunity to make friends, chat, and talk through issues or concerns.

There is no expectation for those who attend to be actively involved in discussion, you can contribute if you would like but equally are welcome to just listen in. There will be activities available for you to engage in such as board games and colouring as well as refreshments.

If you are waiting for a diagnostic assessment for autism, the support group may be good place to find out from other students about their experiences of the assessment process. Please note that the session is not a therapy group, although there is an element of students supporting each other.

If you would like to attend, please feel free to come along, no prior booking is required.

The group will meet every two weeks on Fridays 10am-12pm, in T2.01 (floor 2, The Curve).
The next session is Friday 5 April 2024.

You can find details of future sessions in our events calendar.
