School of Computing, Engineering & Digital Technologies students have helped to design a wall mural for a classroom used by engineering students at Hartlepool 6th Form College (H6F).

Dr Dimitri Nicolaou, Associate Dean in the School of Computing, Engineering & Digital Technologies, said: “We have designed a colourful wall mural that we hope will inspire young people from all backgrounds to consider a rewarding career in engineering. I’m delighted that it also provides a brighter space for H6F students to work in.”

The mural unveiling was attended by H6F engineering students, along with Adam Adgar, Head of the Engineering Department at Teesside University, and Jeffrey Bower, Faculty Director for Advanced Manufacturing Engineering H6F.

Jane Reed, Campus Principal, H6F, added: “The wall mural has enhanced the learning environment for engineering students at Hartlepool 6th Form. It is used to stimulate discussions on a range of key topics including green energy, industrial automation, industry 4.0 and gender imbalance in the engineering sector.”

Teesside University offer fully funded wall murals featuring our students’ work from engineering, computer science, games art, concept art, and animation.

If your college would benefit from a brighter classroom, please get in touch with Dr Dimitri Nicolaou at D.Nicolaou@tees.ac.uk.
