Led by our sport and exercise science students, under the supervision of qualified sport and exercise scientists, the clinic provides a range of health-related assessments in areas of physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, psychology and sociology, to understand how exercise influences health and overall wellbeing.
We have purpose-built facilities including an exercise physiology room where a range of health-related assessments can be undertaken.
Typical assessments include:
The clinic is open to the public, including children (with an appropriate adult), and accepts direct self-referrals for all assessments. We also accept enquiries regarding group bookings (for example, school and workplace assessments).
Students perform some basic pre-assessment screening procedures which cover aspects of medical history, physical activity levels and lifestyle.
You are provided with an outline of the test procedures and students answer any questions you may have relating to the session.
Students record all test results and provide you with a brief verbal outline of the findings plus a more detailed written report. The reports are designed so you can use them to direct your efforts to improve and maintain your health.
Sessions last between 45 minutes to an hour.
All health-related tests are free of charge.
Clinics run throughout the year, except over Christmas and for two weeks in September, with reduced appointment availability during the students' summer break.
