New scholarships will help students realise their ambitions
Business students at Teesside University are to benefit from a series of new scholarships as part of the University’s commitment to ensuring its students reach their full potential.
Fifteen students will receive £2,000 each under the new Teesside University Business School Excellence Scholarships.
In addition, the Teesside University Business School Accommodation Award provides a discount of £2,000 on any of the University-managed halls of residence for undergraduate Business School students.
The new scholarships build upon Teesside University’s drive to ensure it delivers the very best student and learning experience. This has seen a host of new initiatives emerge which are dedicated to ensuring that Teesside graduates are able to make the very best of their time at University and realise their ambitions.
Last month, Universities minister Chris Skidmore opened the new £13.2 million Student Life Building and hailed the new facility, which brings together all student-facing services under one roof, as an example of best practice for student support and well-being.
The Teesside University Advance scheme also sees all full-time undergraduate students issued with an Apple iPad and a suite of apps to ensure they are able to make full use of the latest advances in technology throughout their studies (eligibility criteria apply). This Future Facing Learning initiative saw the University win the Student Experience category in the 2019 Educate North Awards.

Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching) Professor Mark Simpson said: 'We want to ensure that throughout their time at Teesside University, students are able to receive all the support they need – whether that be financial, technological or wellbeing services – to achieve their potential and make a real impact in the world when they leave.'
Teesside University recently re-launched its new look £7.5million Business School which will play a leading role in the transformation of the region’s economy and boasts state-of-the art learning facilities and collaborative workspaces.
Dean of Teesside University Business School Dr Susan Laing added: 'We are delighted to offer these new scholarships which will make it much easier for Business School students to access their studies and develop into the leaders of tomorrow.'
The Teesside University Business School Excellence Scholarships are for applicants who achieve a minimum entry of 128 UCAS points (or equivalent) and are allocated via an academic panel, while the Accommodation Award is open to all Business School students who live outside of the TS postcode area and accept an offer for a full-time undergraduate course by 30 June 2020.
