Teenagers explore the digital world

A group of recent school leavers are spending the week (18 – 23 July) at the University of Teesside, to take part in the first Digital Arts & Media Summer School where they will gain first hand experience of the world of digital arts, including:

A group of recent school leavers are spending the week (18 – 23 July) at the University of Teesside, to take part in the first Digital Arts & Media Summer School where they will gain first hand experience of the world of digital arts, including:

* exploring media communications such as TV, the web, digital art and radio * looking at the various uses of computers in the creative industries in past, present and future * how the media portrays events places, people and historic events * Virtual Reality * modern broadcasting equipment, television studios and editing facilities

The teenagers are from across the UK and are living in the University’s Halls of Residence during their stay.

On Wednesday at 3.30pm, they will be using top-of-the-range film and TV equipment at Aurora House, the University’s broadcast media training facility. They will be using film cameras, boom mikes, editing machines and the filming studio. The media is welcome to attend to take photographs/film.
