The offer is part of ‘I Gave, I Saved’, a four-year-old campaign to recruit young donors for the National Blood Service and boost vital blood stocks. Students not only get the chance to save a life but then get to boost their own sugar levels in the nicest possible way straight afterwards!
Tom Hopes from the National Blood Service said: “Some parts of a blood donation have a very short shelf life, such as platelets, which last just five days! This is why there is a constant demand for blood and why the National Blood Service is always encouraging people, especially the young, to donate a unit of blood whenever they can. Giving blood is so simple, but it can really save a life.”
Students can give blood today and tomorrow in the Main Hall, between: 10.00am – 12.00pm & 1.30pm – 4.00pm.
