Plastic’s fantastic for Teesside twosome

Imaginative students are raising their glasses to success after products they designed from recycled plastic bottles brought them recognition in a prestigious magazine.

Work by MA Art & Design students Joanne Riddle and Ondrej Lewis has been featured in the highly respected Design Week magazine.

And their most eye-catching creation is also to be shown off at a London exhibition.

Joanne and Ondrej joined forces as Ateliero to create a range of products made from recycled PET and HDPE plastic bottles based on a concept the pair called EcoPETlite.

Their piece of work shown in Design Week was the Thirteen Rows, a 2m high chandelier which has been displayed in our Phoenix building.

The Thirteenth Rows will also be exhibited at New Designers at the Business Design Centre, in London, from 10 -13 July.
