Dragon encourages learners to follow the part-time path

15 June 2009

Duncan Bannatyne has endorsed our new part-time brochure and hopes it will inspire people to enrol on a course.

We are hosting a part-time open day on Thursday 25 June when staff from all our six academic Schools will be on hand with information.

There will also be:

  • advice on courses
  • advice on balancing work and study
  • help with applying and application forms will be available
  • information on financial and study support
  • free refreshments.

The event will be in the foyer, second floor, Clarendon Building.

Visitors can call in on a drop-in basis from 3.00pm to 7.30pm.

Our fees for part-time taught courses are the same level as 2008 and fees details will be available.

We also have a part-time opportunities brochure for 2009. Details about a range of courses are featured, along with fees information and student and staff profiles.

The booklet has received an endorsement from local millionaire entrepreneur and Dragons’ Den star Duncan Bannatyne.

Encourage and inspire Duncan was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Business Administration from Teesside University in February. He said: 'As an Honorary Graduate of Teesside University I’m pleased to endorse the part-time opportunities booklet. It was a great honour to see graduates receiving their various awards from the University earlier this year, and I hope this text will encourage and inspire others to join them as future students.'

Helen Caswell, the University’s Marketing Manager added: 'In this difficult economic climate, there’s never been a better time to study part-time at Teesside. Courses are relevant to work and ongoing career plans, so they’re a valuable use of your limited spare time. And discounts are available on some undergraduate courses for new students, so they’re affordable too.'

The part-time opportunities brochure can be ordered by calling 01642 342942 or by emailing enquiries@tees.ac.uk
