Columbo Opera Buffa will presented from 7.00pm to 9.00pm on Sunday 1 November in the University’s Main Hall, Brittan Building for sport & well-being.
There will be a drinks reception and canapés at 6.30pm in the foyer of the Brittan Building. Tickets are £10 with £8 concessions and under-18s free.
Internationally known baritone Julian Tovey Pietro Lusvardi has written the lyrics and script, with music performed by the Gatto Marte Ensemble. Taking on the lead role of Columbus is internationally known baritone Julian Tovey, who was born in Guisborough. Julian’s brother Wade is an Assistant Dean in the School of Health & Social Care.
Described as a witty tale for all ages, the Opera Buffa performance is made up of ten arias, sung in Italian and English with instrumental pieces interwoven with narration.
A wide range of afternoon and evening performances can be enjoyed as part of the University’s Culture on Campus programme, with lunchtime events free of charge.
